This session has a focus on HPV vaccinations and the astounding statistics of HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer.

Learning Objectives:

After completing this course, learners should be able to:

• summarize oropharyngeal cancer risk factors and differentiate them from those of other cancers
• explain the roles of dental healthcare professionals in contributing to patients’ overall wellness
• identify pathology caused by HPV, specifically as related to oral health screenings and detection
• effectively educate patients/parents on the HPV vaccine and its part in decreasing HPV-related cancer

Hana Alberti, DDS

Dr. Alberti has always been interested in the health sciences and comprehensive patient care outcomes. She completed her undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Marquette University School of Dentistry. She now also serves as Vice President of ForwardDental in addition to patient care.
