This course re-emphasizes respiratory hygiene and highlights diseases that a respiratory hygiene/cough etiquette program can prevent. Examples clarify the advantages or disadvantages of using a reusable item versus its disposable counterpart.

Learning Objectives:

After completing this course, learners should be able to:

• List the components of the respiratory hygiene/cough etiquette recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
• Give examples of diseases that can be prevented through the respiratory hygiene/cough etiquette program.
• Give some advantages or disadvantages of disposables vs. reusables.
• Describe what needs to be considered when deciding to use a reusable item or its disposable counterpart.
