Medical emergencies—no one wants to experience one, and we all need to be ready for one. This course will explore the most common medical emergencies experienced in the dental office. Responses and best practices to these emergencies will be reviewed. We will discuss office readiness protocols and emergency prevention tips.

  1. Describe the five most common medical emergencies experienced in the dental office setting.
  2. Illustrate standard interventions for these common medical emergencies.
  3. Define key components of the medical emergency kit.
