Package Description

This course exemplifies why qualified leaders are vital. Still, they cannot do the job alone – the entire office must be a trained dental safety team with shared values and a commitment to a ‘culture of safety.’ Practical strategies offer leadership guidance and define the roles of office safety coordinator and infection control coordinator. A workplace scenario details how a breach in sterilization assurance hastens the dental team to reestablish safety protocols and regroup with one person taking on a leadership role in a revamped dental office safety program.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

After completing this course, learners should be able to: 

• Describe what is needed to lead a safety team.
• Define the infection control coordinator’s leadership role and responsibilities; why consider certification?
• Discuss the value of leadership within a culture of safety.
• Describe the value of balancing employer, employee, and patient perspectives on safety to bring the safety team together.
• Provide an example of how to identify and resolve a breach in safety protocols.
