Infection Control and the Law (On-Demand)

Dr. Zinman will provide an update on a recent litigation involving mycobacterium abscessus in a pediatric population. He will also discuss standard of care distinguishing between Dental Board regulations and CDC guidelines. He will also cover the legal responsibilities of dentist and staff, jury instructions, corporate practice, and the relation of each to customary practice.

Recently Olivia Wann has dealt with allegations of OSHA violations related to infection control issues in dental practices. Learn how OSHA pulls in infection control into job safety and utilizes the General Duty Clause in addition to the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. Additionally, Mrs. Wann will feature a case that involved an investigation by the Department of Health that adversely affected a dental practice due to an infection control issue.
