Deep Dive into Antibiotic Prophylaxis (On-Demand)

This program aims to discuss new dental literature on the prophylactic and therapeutic use of antibiotics to guide dentists to make appropriate antibiotic decisions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Review new guidance on the use of clindamycin and quinolones for their use for antibiotic prophylaxis. 
2. Discuss 5 antibiotic practice changes dentists should make today! 
3. Analyze new studies that evaluate dental antibiotic use for prophylaxis and treatment for pre-procedure prophylaxis for patients with certain medical conditions (patients with TJR, other implanted devices, cardiac history, diabetes), etc. 
4. Discuss two new studies that support no more dental antibiotic prophylaxis for joint implant patients and how that could impact practice.
