Principles of Infection Control (On-Demand)

This presentation will provide an overview of the basic principles of modern infection control and their application in dental settings. List current CDC recommendations for immunizations and screenings for healthcare personnel (HCP) and TB screenings for dental health care personnel (DHCP) will be provided.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Recognize the types of sources of infectious organisms.
2. Discuss how to incorporate risk-recognition into work processes, such as implementing infection control practices, assessing equipment and devices, and purchasing decisions for clinical settings.
3. List current CDC recommendations for elements of an immunization program for DHCP.
