This session will provide an overview of best practices and supplies for personal protective equipment and discuss practical implementation issues. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Define the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to reduce the risk of exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. 
  2. Explain the rationale for compliance to standards, regulations, guidelines, and best practices regarding PPE use.
  3. Describe the appropriate steps for handwashing and the use of alcohol handrubs.
