Hazard Communication Standards (On-Demand)

Employees need to be protected from contact with these chemical hazards as they perform their work duties. They also have the “right to know” the chemicals they work with and have the “right to understand” the risk and how to properly handle and protect themselves when working with hazardous substances. This session will summarize the Hazard Communication Standard, as well as safety measures to ensure the safety of workers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

1. Discuss the meaning of pictograms 
2. Recall sections in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) which provide information on the type of hazard associated with the chemical. 
3. List the elements of an effective Hazard Communication Program 
4. Identify measures for safe handling of hazardous chemicals
